Out With the Old Year, In With the New

The start of a new year seems a natural time for reflection.  Here are just a few thoughts as we bid farewell to 2011 and welcome the endless possibilities of 2012.

Sourtosweet remains true to its commitment not to re-post media containing negative news or forecasts about the economy.  Even though the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the lowest unemployment rate in three years, articles discussing the 8.6 percent rate are cautiously optimistic at best.  Therefore, nothing to post here.

However, sourtosweet does appreciate the tone of Bill Chappell’s article, “What’s It Been A Good Year For?  Here’s the Word(s),” published on npr.org.  Here’s the link.  Please enjoy.

Sourtosweet began to gather inspirational stories born during this recession just six months ago.  Now, this blog has grown to nine stories and a total of eleven posts.  In 2012, readers can look forward to many more inspirational stories brimming with optimism and positivity as we push through these difficult economic times.

To those individuals who have contributed their stories, thank you, thank you, thank you.  Sourtosweet’s wish for you is happiness and boundless success in this new year.
